A angora goat occurs as goat from the Angora region in Asia Minor, near present-contemporary Ankara.
These are number one mentioned in the period of Moses, about 1500 B.C. A number one angora goats were bring round Europe by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, about 1554, but, rather late imports, were does'nt super successful.
A fleece taken from an angora goat is known as mohair. One goat produces between 5 & eight kilograms of hair per season.
Angora goats come supplementary susceptible to external parasites (ectoparasites) than similar animals, because of the density of their pulp.
For an extended period, angora goats were bred for their whiten coat. Around 1998 a CAGBA, coloured Angora Goat Breeders Association, was install to promote breeding of colored angoras. Today angora goats are inside white, black (deep black to greys & silver), red (a color fades significantly when a goat gets older), & brown.
